Visit the Tama area?

A New York Times article with some good ideas of the Mt. Takeo area. The writer does not seem to know that there is Tokyo the city, and Tokyo the prefecture (state). Takeo is not in the city obviously. I would pass on the raw chicken too. Although it may be considered safe in Japan---as is raw hamburger despite illnesses resulting from eating it---I would not risk a serious illness from doing so.
